Giving Back to Our Communities
Through 2010, SFM Foundation has awarded higher education scholarships to 19 students whose parents were killed or seriously injured on the job.
For a charitable organization only 2 years old, that's a wonderful accomplishment. We launched the Foundation in 2009 from a vision of helping children and families disadvantaged by the tragedies of work injuries. Recipients are awarded major scholarships of up to $5,000 per year for up to five years.
SFM Foundation continues to grow in the number of scholarship applications received and in financial support from businesses and individuals, whose contributions make it possible for these promising young people to advance their educations and futures. Looking ahead, the Foundation hopes to expand its reach in the communities across Minnesota and Wisconsin. Its website is at www.sfm-foundation.org.
Together with our employees, we contributed financially and volunteered time to many community organizations.
SFM's corporate contribution program supported many charitable organizations that enrich the lives of people particularly in communities where our policyholders do business and our employees live. We are especially proud of our employees, whose voluntary giving of their time and financial resources reached high levels in 2010.
