Frequently asked questions

Hiring practices

What is the best way to apply for a position at SFM?

You may apply for a job by uploading your resume. We accept documents formatted in Microsoft Word, HTML or PDF.

Will SFM accept my cover letter and resume if I am not applying for a specific available position?

Yes, we accept and review unsolicited resumes. If we determine there is a possible match for a future position, we will keep your resume active and will consider you when a position becomes available.

I applied for a position with SFM 10 months ago and did not receive a job offer. I'd like to apply for a new position that just became available. Do I need to submit a new resume if there have been no changes?

Yes. A resume and cover letter referencing the position for which you are applying must be submitted for consideration.

I have submitted my application for a position with SFM, but have not been called for an interview. What is my next step?

We review every resume and cover letter we receive and select those individuals whose work experience and qualifications match the requirements for the position. Candidates not contacted within two weeks should not expect an interview.

I just learned that I did not receive a job offer for the position in which I applied. Can you tell me what I should do to be more successful next time?

Unfortunately, we do not have the resources to provide this kind of coaching.

Training

If your company employed me, what kind of training could I expect?

Initial training may be one-on-one or in a classroom setting. A comprehensive training program is provided to employees new to claims management and underwriting.

nternships

Does SFM offer internships?

Not at this time.

International students

Does SFM sponsor international students?

Not at this time. One of our requirements for employment is "permanent authorization" to work in the United States.
