Company NewsBloomington public schools honored for outstanding work comp management BLOOMINGTON, MINN., February 2, 2009 — Independent School District 271, Bloomington, was recognized recently by Minnesota's largest workers' compensation insurer for outstanding workers' compensation cost management practices. "The Bloomington schools are a wonderful example to other employers both public and private," said Bob Lund, president and CEO of SFM Companies, a regional Minnesota-based insurance group that specializes in workers' compensation. "The district puts good ideas into action, producing a culture of safety and reducing injury-related costs." The Bloomington School District includes 17 schools, 1,700 employees and 10,300 students. The district is one of five employers this year to be awarded the Premier Partner Award by SFM Companies, which is headquartered in Bloomington and insures 13,000 Midwest employers for workers' compensation. SFM representatives and Mark Kampf of Kraus Anderson Insurance Agency presented the award to district representatives at a recent School Board meeting.
