BLOOMINGTON, MINN., Oct. 12, 2009 — SFM Risk Solutions has been selected as a servicing carrier for a portion of the Minnesota Workers' Compensation Assigned Risk Plan business.

We look forward to providing ARP policyholders with many of the same industry-leading services and cost controls that we provide to current SFM policyholders across the region," said Mike Happe, SFM vice president, business development and marketing.

SFM Risk Solutions, a subsidiary of SFM Mutual Insurance Company and provider of SFM's third-party administration business, begins servicing ARP business on Jan. 1.

Representatives of the state Department of Commerce and the plan administrator, Aon Affinity Insurance Services Inc., chose SFM Risk Solutions in early October as one of the plan's three servicing carriers.

At year-end 2008, the Assigned Risk Plan insured 29,013 Minnesota employers. In-force premium totaled $36.8 million.
