BLOOMINGTON, Minn., August 2, 2012—Injured workers covered by SFM will again see the nation's largest drugstore chain listed among network pharmacies.

Walgreens recently reached an agreement with Express Scripts, which manages SFM's pharmacy benefits. The chain's contract with Express Scripts—now the country's largest pharmacy benefit management organization—expired at the end of 2011.

Injured workers using Walgreens pharmacies before the contract expired didn't have to go elsewhere because Express Scripts continued honoring its previous pricing agreements, said SFM Medical Services Director Rose Hatmaker.

News of the multi-year agreement between the two companies was announced July 19, and the new contract takes effect Sept. 15, according to Express Scripts. Express Scripts became the nation's largest pharmacy benefits management organization after merging with Medco April 2.
