Online reporting hits 57 percent

Online reporting by SFM policyholders reached an all-time weekly high of 57 percent the week of June 28.

Year to date, 49 percent of the First Reports submitted to SFM are submitted through SFM's website.

Encourage your clients to report workers' compensation injuries online at www.sfmic.com. It's fast and saves time.

The employer receives email confirmation that SFM received the First Report. Employers also can print copies of the First Reports for their files or save them to their computers.

SFM hosts national conference

State Fund Mutual hosted the American Association of State Compensation Insurance Fund's annual conference Aug. 1-4 in downtown Minneapolis. More than 400 AASCIF members and guests attended.

AASCIF is an association of workers' compensation organizations across the United States and Canada. Its annual conference is an opportunity for the leaders of the organizations to discuss trends and hear from leading authorities on a variety of issues impacting workers' compensation. The themes for this year's conference included medical costs, ethical leadership, and economic trends.

Last year's conference was in Vancouver, British Columbia, and the year before in New York. The 2005 conference is scheduled for Louisiana.
