| When policy cancellation dates pass | |||
SFM occasionally gets calls from agents and employers asking to reinstate policies that are past the cancellation date. Some calls are a day or two past the cancellation date. Others are weeks past. Please be aware that policies cancelled due to non-payment may need to be replaced with a new policy. Please also be aware that installment options may need to be altered for employers with frequent cancellations. When SFM provides coverage, it wants ongoing business processes to be as easy as possible for both agent and employer. Agents’ attention to the status of their accounts is appreciated. One place you can see your entire book of SFM business at a glance, including any “Policies in cancellation,” is in your agency’s CompOnline account at www.sfmic.com. |

Resolving work comp disputes early saves time and money. The best practice is to get matters resolved before the injured worker contacts a lawyer and the issue becomes litigated. You-- |
