Paying for medical treatment
Workers' compensation benefits are established by state law and generally cover what is medically reasonable and necessary to treat your work injury. Medical benefits may include exams, treatments, prescriptions, medical supplies, equipment and mileage to doctor appointments.
Your employer may have an established relationship with a medical provider and suggest you go there for treatment.
Compensating for lost wages
If you are losing time from work because of your injury, you may be entitled to lost-wage benefits. The amount and duration of indemnity benefits are set by state law.
