"Responding to work injuries" and
"Early return-to-work: Why it matters. How it works."

Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008

This half-day seminar is designed to help you better handle your organization's workplace injuries and to give you practical tips to use back at your workplace.

Who should attend
Those who handle your organization's workplace injuries and facilitate return-to-work for your injured employees. If your organization is a new policyholder to SFM or handling work injuries is a new responsibility for you, this seminar is especially for you.

Part 1: "Responding to work injuries"
SFM's claims and legal experts walk you through your responsibilities in handling and reporting a work injury, including your "Five-step response" when an injury occurs, working with clinics and doctors to produce better outcomes, avoiding state penalties, using SFM's online First Report for reporting injuries and controlling the costs of the claim by better handling problem employees and situations.

Part two: "Early return-to-work: Why it matters. How it works."
SFM's claims and legal experts show you how your decisions involving an injured employee impact your work comp premium. You'll explore the connection between claims costs and your premium, how to reduce the impact of medical costs on your premium by 70 percent and best practices on returning an injured employee to work. Finish the session with tips and tools you can take back to the office and implement right away.
