SFM Foundation's golf tournaments raise nearly $300,000

Now in its eleventh consecutive year, SFM Foundation's Golfing for Scholarships event has become one of the most successful charity golf events in the state of Minnesota. In 2016, the Foundation added a second golf event in Iowa that has grown into a major annual fundraiser as well. This year, the two events raised nearly $300,000 for the Foundation's scholarship fund.

The SFM Foundation provides scholarships to students whose parents were severely or fatally injured while working for Minnesota or Iowa employers.

Thanks to the generosity of its growing network of supporters, the Foundation has extended its scholarship program to award over $400,000 in scholarships in 2019, adding 22 new students this year. This brings the total amount awarded to $2.1 million in scholarships since the Foundation's inception in 2008.

"We are just thrilled to have another record-breaking fundraising year," said SFM Foundation President Linda Williams. "Thank you to the sponsors and golfers who contributed to this year's golf events. Every additional dollar raised expands our reach and allows us to help more students and families in need."
