Once again, the results of a survey of agents who work with SFM demonstrated why we’re viewed as a premier workers’ compensation partner.
Nearly 500 agents responded to SFM’s spring 2026 survey, which yielded outstanding results.
Notably, 94% of respondents said they were satisfied with SFM as a partner, with more than 80% saying they were “extremely” satisfied to work with us.
When it comes to ease of doing business, 96% said SFM was “very easy” or “easy” to do business with, which is an increase of five percentage points from the 2025 agent survey.
“All of our agencies, no matter their size, are genuinely important to us,” said Mark Lewis, Team Business Leader. “About 99% of our business comes from independent agents, so we show them respect and demonstrate through our actions how much we appreciate their trust. Then when they have success, we do as well.”
SFM also introduced a new metric to this year’s survey, “value-added partner.” Under that category, 99% of respondents either agreed or strongly agreed with the statement, “We trust SFM to be a value-add partner for our organization in the long run.”
Those results reflect SFM’s commitment to customer service, improving technology and business systems, and fostering strong relationships with our agency partners.
And it all starts with our philosophy of taking care of our stakeholders – 86% of agents who responded said they had received excellent customer service, an 11-percentage-point increase from the previous survey. A dozen SFM employees were specifically cited for their customer service 10 or more times by agents, and nearly 300 respondents said they knew of specific SFM employees who provided “excellent customer service.”
“By working with an insurer that’s dedicated to excelling at work comp, agents have access to the tools they need to streamline their processes and better serve their clients,” said Mike Happe, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. “For agents, SFM is more than a carrier – we’re a collaborator. With fast response times, superior medical outcomes, and cost controls that reduce e-mods over time, SFM delivers what agents need most: confidence, clarity and care for injured workers.”
